Add existing to contact Sub-grid issue on Account form

Good morning,

I know there's been a lot of posts about this particular problem, but none seem to have solved the issue.

USING: Dynamics 365 - Online

I've got the contact sub-grid on our Account form and the '+' button is referring to quick create, rather than a look up (i.e. add existing).

I've checked/tried:

  • Checking to make sure the 1:N relationship field is optional
  • Ribbonbench to see if anything is quirky on there

The "add existing" is available on the associated view (see below)

Does anyone have any suggestions for changing the sub-grid + to "add existing", rather than "create record"?

I would really appreciate your suggestions!

Thanks,

Chris

    Mohd,

You've prompted my brain...! I was too busy trying to edit the "client" on workbench and didn't think to edit the "contact" workbench. I removed the "don't show on account" command and it works now!

    Thanks so much again!

Can you try to create another sub grid and use another relation instead of contact. If this subgrid also doesn't show Add existing lookup then i suggest you share contact opened in ribbon workbench screenshot.

    Hi Mohd,

I just tried your suggestion and unfortunately, it's still showing as "create new" record.

    Thanks,

    Chris

I would advise you to recreate the subgrid again and make sure relation is optional before creating subgrid.
