Purpose:
I'm looking for reconciliation tools that can reconcile external datasets to what is in the GL. For example: we may have a list of transactions that come from another dataset or system such as Unitrax that ultimately needs to be reconciled back to what is in GP.
It might even be multiple systems including a loan system with transactions that ultimately needs some accounts to reconcile back to certain accounts in the Loan System.
What I'm Interested In Finding:
1) A facilitator of reconciliations - provides a foundation or place to complete reconciliations - I think a lot of the 3rd party tools I'm finding are facilitators, but it's #2 that is often hard to find.
2) An actual assistant or process improvement in reconciliation - going beyond the base and the tool actually matching transactions
My Search So Far:
Native GP Functionality:
I started off searching reconciliation tools that exist natively and it seems like GP has native functionality for modules such as AP/AR/Inventory and Bank Recs (GP2010 is limited to AP and AR).
External GP Functionality:
- CCH Tagetiks - seems smart and can handle external data loading
- Blackline - worked with this in the past with SAP
- FloQast
They seem to be great facilitators however, Tagetiks seems to do more heavy lifting on #2 in what I'm looking for (above) and Blackline behind that. Don't know much about FloQast yet.
