How to define Taxonomy for working in MSCRM.

Hello Guys,

How can i define taxonomy on a paper before actual implementation.?

    You can list the entities with their relationships

    similar to an Entity Relationship diagram for data bases.

    As you have not indicated version and clear business objectives, this response will be a bit generic. Have a look at this video to get an understanding of what is required when working with taxonomy in Dynamics CRM and see what questions you should be asking prior to taking this into CRM. You will have your own data structures for your business and the values will more than likely be different, however, the principles are the same.

    On paper, classify your data in the entities where you can describe that “item” / “object.”  By way of an example, you have an entity called Vehicles and you are looking to describe all the attributes of the vehicle, like the colour, type of vehicle, size, weight etc. Products like Microsft Visio have templates that may assist you in this exercise, like the Crow’s Foot Database Notation to help with this.
