Portal - Entity List does not update

Hello,

I have created an Entity List on the Portal and liked it to a web page and to a particular View with certain filters.

The problem is that the number of records in the list does not update even if they are not shown any more in the view.

It updates if and only if I restart the Portal!

Also tryed Ctrl+F5 on several browsers.

I have also another entity list on the portal and it updates correctly!

Did somebody have the same problem?

Any suggestion?

Portal version: 8.1

CRM version: Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 Update 1

Best regards.

This is usually because you don't have change tracking enabled for the entity - see technet.microsoft.com/.../dn946903.aspx

    Hope this helps

Hello Scott and thank you for your answer.

I don't think the problem is the one you described because the other entity list (the one that works) is on the same entity (incident).

I solved the problem by adding an extra filter to the view on the CRM. The goal was to view on the portal all the cases where the responsible contact was the logged user on the portal. The entity list was already filtered on the right field. The filter I added is "Responsible Contact = System Administrator". Now it works fine for every logged user. Actually I did not understand why I had to do this.

Actually the solution is partially working. After restarting the portal, the entity list works fine for a while... than it starts not refreshing anymore :/

I reopen this post because I'm facing again the same problem.

The lists on the portal don't refresh (randomly)! They do it only if I create a new record....

    That is very annoying.

I wonder if it's necessary to open a ticket to Microsoft for this issue...

Hi Luca, your problem sounds similar to one I had a couple of months ago.

I did manage to solve it by two changes:

    1) Activate the "change tracking" on the incident entity

    2) Configure "Web notifications". One of the solutions installed in your D365 environment will be "WebNotification".

When you open this solution you can configure which events should en should not trigger some sort of cache refresh.

According to the ADX documentation this should not be needed in online solutions, but for me all caching delays were solved once configured the WebNotification.

Before I did that it seemed the synchronization of changes are on a frequency of once per 24 hours or so

    Hope this will help you.

Hi and thanks for your reply.

I checked the solution but Incident entoty was already present in the "send notification" box. Same thing for the "enable tracking" option. Was already set

Ah, that's too bad. Just to be sure, did you pulish the webnotification solution? I don't know if it's published during the installation.
