CRM Connection to NAV Error - The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character

Posted on by 2

We are trying to connect CRM to NAV and we are running into the following error:

CRM-Error.png

The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character, more than two padding characters, or an illegal character amount the padding characters.

From Edit - Microsoft Dynamics CRM Connection Setup has to close.

We discovered this issue recently on an on premise NAV 2016.

The only solution we could identify was to open the CRM Connection Setup table 5330.

Once this had been opened I could run the page form as expected.

compile all nav object with F11

    then restart nav service

if you get that error again, run debugger during that action. where does the debugger stop?

additional you could start with an unchanged cronus/demo database to check if you get the same error, when integrating crm with nav. if you get then the same error, it could be a bug in that nav build.

Activate the debugger and see where it stops.
