Business Portal 5.1 64-bit new install no KPI Managment Console

I just installed BP 5.1 for a new client and after much labor was able to get the KPI's installed along with the BI and deployed GP reports.  I need to modify the installed KPI's and could not find the KPI management console in BP.  Thinking I had messed something up I started a tech support incident and was told that this is in 'transition' and that the KPI management tool is no longer installed / available in BP, that everything has moved to SSRS.  EVERY bit of documentation that I can find on these references the BP KPI management console, I cannot find anything on how to change these.  Microsoft support never responded to my question and closed the case, very annoying!  The only reference that I have found to this change is a little blip on it in the 'What's new' and it does not mention that the console is no longer installed.

Does anyone know where I can find the new documentation on these?

Thanks!

Mary

RE: Business Portal 5.1 64-bit new install no KPI Managment Console

    Hi Mary,

I remember you working with Chris on this case as him and I discussed it. The information Chris provided is correct that KPI are now being replaced by SRS. This information is in the KPI guide in Chapter 3.

The Executive Center displays the Reporting Services KPIs without having to set up and display them in web parts. You can use Reporting Services 2008 or Reporting Services 2008 R2 to create your own KPIs and metrics to display in the Executive Center site in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP. If you have used KPIs in a previous release of Business Portal and have upgraded to Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, you can create and display KPIs in a full page or web part.

You can use the Create KPI pages within Business Portal to set up a KPI that uses a query, that is based on existing KPIs, or that is a copy of an existing KPI. This information guides you through each option.
