Dynamic 365 Roles issue

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

To give access to a user to Dynamics 365 we have to assign Administrator Roles, other wise the "Insufficient Permissions" error appear after login. (We already check with IE, Edge, FireFox, Chrome, Windows 10 and MAC)

We want to assign User Dynamics Roles to the Users and Administrator just the the administrator.

How can we fix this issue?

    Hi Alex, you are right.

    Your recommendation is the solution.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

did you create a security group for Dynamics?

I believe all you need after that is to create a user, add that user to the security group created above, wait till that user shows up in Dynamics, and assign some security roles to that user directly in Dynamics.

No need to grant 365 admin..

Your screenshots indicated that this is for CRM, I'll move this thread to the correct forum.

    Thanks,

I believe that tenants are recommended to give each new user access to the 'D365 BUS FULL ACCESS' user group - this should be enough to prevent the "Insufficient Permissions" message appearing.

You can then add other user groups to the users, to give them any additional access they need to do their job roles, without having to give them any administrator role.

However, you may find that your new issue is that the 'D365 BUS FULL ACCESS' user group actually gives the users too much access to the system, relative to their job roles.

I hope this is of some help.
