ReportReport
Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I recently accidentally deleted a payroll report now I need to recreate it but I don't seem to find the table I need. I know the name of the table in Microsoft GP 2010 was go_earningdetailstable but know that we have upgraded to 2015 I name structure has all change and I can't find the table I need. Is there someone on here that can help me out.

Thanks,

Martin

    RE: Payroll Tables

    Martin,

The naming convention did not change from the GP2010 data model. What I think Almas and I are saying is that we have never heard of a gp table that was ever named 'gp_earningdetailtable'. It could very well be a custom table that was populated with some kind of custom code. If you look in your Dynamics.set file, you could list the products that appear there and I'm sure someone would be able to identify a non-standard dictionary. Regardless, all of the data you need is no doubt still within the GP tables. You might be well served to search the internet and see if perhaps someone has already written a suitable SQL script you could start with.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    RE: Payroll Tables

    Hi Almas and Leslie,

It was a custom report that we pulled pay codes for certain check dates. I was trying to modify it to include hours for those pay codes but I accidentally deleted it when i didn't want to save my change. We looked through the back end at the tables so we can recreate the report but with the new naming structure in GP 2015 we can't find the table with those fields. We were able to find the table in our old GP 2010 database which was named gp_earningdetailtable but we have been going one by one in the new GP database  to find where that table reciprocated to. I thought asking here might save me some time from checking every single table one by one. Hope this explains a little more.

    Thanks,

    Martin

I also don't know any table with name 'gp_earningdetailstable', I don't  think it's a correct name he is mentioning. Martin if you have report saved or screen shot of report you can share then I can check tables attached to it and may be it will help us to understand the problem you are facing.

    Yes,

The data is still there, but she can't find the table. I've never heard of the table she mentioned. It may be more help to find out was on the report and just rewrite it.

I am confused, if you have deleted the report then data will be there in tables. How you delete the report?

The method still holds, you just may be missing some of the data. Go with the most recent backup you have and get at least that backup.

    Martin,

If you are running regular backups, you should be able to it. Hopefully you have Full  Recovery. Find the most recent backup, and restore it as a different database name. Using the backup as a data source, import all of the records into the new table you will let SQ

L prepare for you. I have the detail Payroll transaction tool installed, but I do not have the table you mentioned.

    Kind regards,

    Lesslie
