Hi,

I would just like to know the impact of disabling the warning message, "Do you want to update exchange rate?" when the posting date is changed in the sales order which used a foreign currency (not LCY).

Really appreciate the help in advance.  Cheers!

The risk of disabling this feature is that you risk a larger inaccuracy in your accounting meaning a larger difference between the amounts posted in your local currency than what is the correct amount according to the current exchange rate.

This is a kind of change that you should discuss with your finance department before you implement it so they can give their view on this effect. In general i would recommend you to keep it active.

    Hi,

You just do small customization, execute this code via programming.

If you bypass this message, then accounting of the document disturb.

Thanks for the response, Inge.  It makes sense since to ask approval from the finance department regarding the risk of inaccuracies in their posted entries.  Aside from the fact of the cost in customizing code to cater the disabling the functionality.

Really appreciate your suggestion, Amit.  I know that there will be some coding that needs to be done which can serve as a workaround.  But I think it's better to scope the risks involved in disabling the functionality.

Hi, just to add another idea, if you never click "No" in this window, I think you can disable this warning message.

I'm not sure if the following example is similar to yours.  I have done a similar development for a client.

When the user used Copy Document, Recalculate Lines was never selected because it would recalculate the amount of the line if selected. However, some users would accidentally select it, resulting in inaccurate posting amounts. The user asked to hide this option and keep this field as false.

I think it depends on your needs.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.
