Step | Action |
---|---|
| Check Release Notes for the new version (Major or Minor). Know what's changing first! |
| Update Sandbox First. Always. NEVER go straight to Production. |
| Test Extensions and Customizations. Run all your key processes (Sales Orders, Purchasing, Posting, Reports, etc.). |
| Coordinate with Users. Inform your team that testing is happening and when you plan to update Prod. |
| Fix Any Issues. If any extension breaks or if something weird happens, fix it first in the Sandbox. |
| Schedule Production Update. Microsoft automatically schedules it, but you can request it sooner or delay within allowed windows. |
| Backup Prod (Snapshot). Even though BC SaaS auto-backs up, take a manual snapshot just in case. |
| Update Production. After you're happy and tested, update Prod. Celebrate quietly. |
