Embedded Power BI in D365 Finance and Operations

Are we able to modify the underlying data entities that are used in Embedded Power BI reports.
Objective is to add to additional fields to make use in the Embedded power BI reports.
 
Not sure if the updates (new fields and their values) to data entities will flow through to the cubes that are used in embedded Power BI reports.
Suggestions and advice are appreciated.

    Do you want to add more fields to the data entities? Yes, you can do it. It's need development to add the fields on the data entities then you can refresh entities in your power BI reports. Are you working on D365 FO or AX 2012?

    Hi,
    Data entities can be extended by adding fields, and after making changes, refresh the data entities (Data management workspace > Framework parameters > Entity settings > Refresh entity list in D365FO), if the PowerBI report is connected to a dataset based on the modified data entities, then The dataset needs to be refreshed to extract updated data.
