difference between license plate and check digit in a WMS
Good day,
In addition to the below answer. The license plate is an unique identifier for the movement of items. The license plate represent one or multiple items with on-hand inventory, it can be for example a box or pallet.

Hi,
Check digits are assigned to a location. So, for example, if you are using location confirmation in the picking process you do not confirm with the location id, but with the check digits. In this way users cannot type in the location name on the keyboard of a scanner, but they really have to go to the location and scan the barcode with the check digit in it.
License plates are assigned to stock. For example, if the inventory unit of an item is kg but the package is 20 kg, then you can assign in the receipt process one license plate per 20 kg. Some setup needs to be done on item and in the warehouse management to be able to use this.
Hope this helps you.
Best regards, Tamira
