    Hi Haemin,

if this is the only POS Station and Database server at your site

close batch, take backup and uninstall then reinstall RMS and SQL Express 2008R2    (make sure do not skip SQL 2005 Express while RMS install)

if there is a separate server for Database where you upgraded to SQL 2008R2, make sure you install SQL Express 2005 backward compatibility on POS Station

I assume you just upgraded SQL 2008R2 on server

Just install backward compatibility on workstation, I would also recommend update RMS to latest updates, on Server and all workstation

check event logs for errors on server for SQL Server 2008 R2, may be you will get a lead from there

which OS is running on Server? if you have any spare Windows 7 Pro system try with SQL 2012 express and see if that fix the problem, make sure do not install any Anti Virus or Firewall

This issue rising from change language setting of your PC. change machine language to previous language setting from control panel. check for both POS and back office server.
