Query Dynamics CRM data using R

Has anyone implemented any solutions for querying CRM data using R? I'm specifically interested in CRM 2015 on prem (yes, I know my client is way behind). I don't think the Xrm.WebAPI is available in that version but just curious at this point and wondering if there are any go-to resources I should look at first. Thanks.

Instead of R language you should try organizationdata.svc for pulling the data..

Thanks for the response. You are correct, that is the approach I would take as well. However, I am asking on behalf of a separate data analytics team that is trying to pull together data from CRM as well as other systems. They currently use R to do this and I'm wondering if there are any standard practices regarding that approach. Thanks.

    Hi KevinDC,

Since you are using Dynamics CRM on-premises, you can access the backend database directly and use the R-SQL server connector package to query the database and get information into R.

Another option is to use the CData ODBC Driver for Dynamics CRM and the RODBC package to work with remote Dynamics CRM data in R. You can find more on this here.

    Hi Kevin,

Sure, I am facing the issue.

Do you find any solution to pull data from Dynamics CRM with R?

Michael - I did not end up working on this so I gave up on researching. Although the suggestion about to use the R SQL server connector probably was the best option.
