Pricing Automation

I'm hoping to get some ideas and advice on how to automate my product pricing in BC.

I am a distributor and deal with a lot of manufacturers (~100) and physical products (2000+). Each manufacturer has their own pricing structure and often markups and discounts across even a single manufacturer's product lines are inconsistent. I also have a lot of customers that require specialized pricing based on their size, etc. Because of all the variables, there are a lot of 'exceptions' to the rules.

As the business owner, the pricing logic tends to stay in my head, which I know is terrible. I want to get the logic into a process where I can have the system watch price updates and make adjustments to customer pricing as needed. I need to be alerted and then be able to, in turn, notify the customers. The problem is that I am at a loss on how to do this. I have been using the new price lists in BC but because I have so many manufacturers (~100), it is still very overwhelming and many products get lost, which translates to loss of business and money.

I'm looking to you guys for any creative suggestion or even to hear how you handle your pricing.

Could you clarify what you mean by price updates? Are you referring to situations where a vendor changes their pricing, and you then need to adjust the pricing you charge your customers accordingly? For example, are you looking for the system to notify you when a vendor, such as Vendor XYZ, changes the price of Item ABC so that you can update the corresponding customer price?

Customize a pricing module that you need.
Also import it from outside the system through Configuration Package.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
