Manual checks

Hello,

How does one get the manual checks out of the 'check batch pool' ??  For every check batch I have to edit them out.

Also,  we have large check batches every month that have to have one check per invoice (with the same vendor).  The function works on the AP computer, but seldom on mine, the back up computer.  Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

thanks,

    Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by 'check batch pool', but I'll take a shot at it. Manual checks are entered in a different window than computer checks. If you apply the manual check to the invoice, no payment will be created in any computer check batch.

If you are using the 'Select Checks' window to create your check batch, you can change the setting in the lower left quadrant of the window to command 1 check per invoice. This functionality is in no way workstation dependent. The default setting is 1 check per vendor, so perhaps the setting is not being changed when the check batch is created.

Also, if your manual checks have not been applied to payables vouchers, the Select Checks process will likely create payments for those invoices as well.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

I can see now that the payment was not posted correctly to  begin with... So now I have to figure out how to post it.  In the mean time we've made additional errors with this process.  Thanks so much for you help. I am going to try to sort it out today.
