Issue creating purchase agreement with product value commitment via RFQ

Dear all,

I am currently encountering some difficulties while trying to create a purchase agreement through a request for quotation (RFQ). Although I am able to successfully create a purchase agreement with commitment “product quantity commitment”, I am struggling to generate a purchase agreement with commitment “product value commitment” via RFQ.

The issue arises when I attempt to remove the quantity on the RFQ lines, as this results in that "sending request for quotation” is empty. Furthermore, I am unable to remove the quantity when entering the vendor bids, which has left me somewhat perplexed.

According to Microsoft Learn, it should be possible to create a purchase agreement based on value instead of quantity, with the definition being: "Purchase agreement: an agreement to purchase a specific quantity or value of product over time." This leads me to believe that I should be able to achieve this, but I am missing a crucial step or piece of information.

Does anyone have an input of how to create a purchase agreement with “product value commitment” via RFQ?

Note: I am working in D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management and are assigned the role "system administrator".

I would greatly appreciate any input.

Thanks in advance for assistance.

    Hi!
You absolutelly correct, you can create a purchase agreement manualy, without a quntity.
But! It is possible only manually, and you can not manage RFQ without quantity.
After agreement created you can delete quantity if the Default commitment = 'Product value commitment'

Thank you for your reply, much appriciated. Okay so if I understand it correctly. If the customer wants to create a purchase agreement with value commitment via RFQ they have to create a purchase agreement with quantity commitment through RFQ and then change the commitment and remove the quantity?

I'snt it strange then that Microsoft learn states that you can create an RFQ based on value?
