I have a client with very simple POS needs; not enough for a full blown POS app. They currently use GP Sales Order to process sales at their retail counter. The issue is that although the store is not heavily used, the customers have to wait an inordinate amount of time for the person at the counter to manually enter the items into SO, then complete the sale and generate a sales slip. Two things would make the process go much quicker; barcode scanning and a credit card solution. We've settled on Nodus for the CC, but we've hit alot of dead ends as far as barcode scanning goes. Every vendor we've spoken with has high end Warehouse and Inventory management systems that cost from $25,000 - $70,000; overkill for this client. All we're looking for is a vendor that can provide a means by which we can use barcode scanners at the "registers" to automate the item number entry when a sale is being processed. We'd also like to be able to use a scanning solution for processing receipts and doing physical inventory counts (handheld scanner). Is anything like that available?
