Best practice custom api pages. Consumer as web services or not?

Hi,

After we have created custom API pages. Should we publish them as web services and consume them that way or just query the API page directly?

I like the transparancy web services gives as well as it showing up in some different BC-connectors in other software such as Power BI. But maybe it will ruin the performance too much.

Any thoughts?

Hi, If you are creating a page of the API Page Type, this does not need to be published in the Web Service. The pages published in the Web Service will be accessed in Odata or Soap.

And the performance of the API page is much better than that of the Web Service.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
