Dynamics 365 Word Template - Repeating Content in Table Header

Hi,

I asked a question about using Repeating content controls within a word template to produce reports out of D365 which got answered, however I have found another issue which I seem to not be able to find a way around.

I want to create a table for the report that produces the data for each budget year across the header of the table. So far as I can see, a repeating content control can only be added to an entire row/column/table? Please see images attached as I'm not sure I'm explaining this well:

If anyone has any ideas around this, or if it is at all possible, please let me know

Thanks again

Steve

    Hi Stephen,

A repeating content control can be added to an entire row or column, which is you selected.

We need a table with only two rows , the first row is the header, the seond row is the plain text control.

Step 1. First select a table cell, then in the XML Mapping Pane, expand the entity, right-click the entity field, and then click Insert Content Control > Plain Text.

Repeat this step to fill all the cells below the header.

Step 2. Select the second entire row, in the XML Mapping Pane, right-click the relationship containing the content control fields, and then click Repeating.

Finally, the exported word template will automatically loop the content of the second row to add new rows to form a complete table.

    Hi Lu,

    Thanks for responding

I'm attempting to have the repeating content control in the header of the table, so that the year relating to the budget in the table is along the top. When I insert the content control within one cell, the years are listed only within that cell, while I select multiple cells along the top, or a single column, I get the below error.

    Thanks
