Add activities to competitor

We want to use the competitor entity in CRM, however when we check the entity the option 'activities' isn't being displayed in the social pane. When I open the entity 'competitor' in an solution I cannot turn this option on either, activities is grayed out.

I have followed this tutorial  : https://markmargolis.wordpress.com/2013/10/21/crm-2013-posts-activities-notes-control/ to add the activites but no success. Is it possible to add this option (activity) in any way?

    Hi Jos,

You cannot enable the Activities for Competitor Entity.

I am not sure what kind of activity you need to perform with the Competitor. Activities are basically any communication or work you need to perform regarding anything (in your case it is Competitor).

If you want to jot down the activities being performed by your Competitors, you can do that in your Opportunity entity under Notes Section

Hope that make sense, please correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks

    Jos,

Not possible since this Entity has no activity enabled and through the UI you can't enable it. It's possible as a bug but since this is Organization entity, usually CRM doesn't allow the activity feed in this type entity ownership, I ever read about this.

    survivingcrm.com/.../activity-feeds-are-here-so-whats-new-in-crm-then

For workaround you can either create relationship to each individual activity entity, such as phone call, task, etc.

But, you can't get the whole picture.

    Or

I think you should create another relationship (lookup field) to another custom entity then you add activities into this custom entity.

Then you configure Quick View Form..to show the Activities from the custom entity.

This is kind of limitation for entities (system) like product, competitor.

    Thanks.
