Hi,

I want to fix my AX security. It is more less clear the part of Roles, duties, privilegies, permissions. I understand we config almost everything at menu item level. But inside an Form, each control has a Security key that you can assign. THis part is not enough clear for me. Could you help me, please? And how to find this security key (if this is the purpose) inside a permission, privilege, etc.

    Hi,

Security can be assigned to FormControl by setting NeededPermission to Yes. This control can be accessed/added to the Forms node either under Security Privilges or under roles node. We can set effectiveAccess property of this FormControl either to NoAccess, Read, Update, Delete. Also, you can install and make use of Security Development tool to get overview of AX security setup on your system

    Path: \Security\Roles\<RoleName>\Permissions\Forms

            \Security\Privileges\<FormName>\Permissions\Forms

Please refer following links for much more insight:

    Thank you for the information.

I am exploring another way which seems a possibility. Is under the AOT tree. In Security I can create several privileges. Each one, I can define an entry point. Then I link this privileges with duty and I can use the duty in a Role. This way it seems I can complete missing controls in the standard roles in order to give to the user the suitable features.
