Hello All,

Is it possible to search documents which have been uploaded in CRM by their name. Say I uploaded "File ABC" within notes on Account DEF. And I want to search File ABC in the search string which shall return Account DEF as a search result. I know I can define entities on which I can run the search criteria. This may be handled by writing a code but I am trying to avoid it. :)

Go to Advanced Find

Look for: Notes

File Name Equals/Contains XXX

Click on Results

Notes is a bit limited, but you can find things if you need to.

Hi,

You can create you own utility (through coding as you know :) already) or can use document search addon available in market.

I guess I shall stick to Advanced find view. A bit of training to the users and it will work okay. Thanks both for the replies!

Hi Abhishek,

Some organisations I work with create a custom activity called 'Documents', and load in their attached files there, and make sure the name of the file is in the subject field (sometimes with code, sometimes just manually).

They can then search on Activities to find their documents.

Just a thought.
