Hello,

I'm looking for an easy way to append contacts/account data that is already loaded into CRM. I understand you can export to excel using the checkbox to allow for re-import, but this becomes extremely difficult to do 1 contact/account at a time. I'm updating the information of roughly 5000 accounts and they are not in the order that CRM spits them out. I had hoped there was a more dynamic way.

Any help is appreciated.

    You are correct the best way to bulk edit data in CRM is to export them to an Excel file, edit them and then re-import them.

    You can either sort the records in the advanced find before exporting by clicking on fields and changing the sort column.

    or you can sort the records in excel into an order you want, edit the data and import the records.

    I'm guessing you have the correct account data in an excel spreadsheet.  If you sort that sheet with the same sorting method as the data from CRM, you should be able to copy lots of the data across at once.

    So lets say i'm trying to update lead information. The number of leads I received doesn't match the amount I have in CRM and sorting/creating a view wouldn't exactly work because they are just random updates. Is there a way to cross match and update the records in CRM? I know in SQL I can import 2 data files and do an update to the fields, but in CRM it seems that i'd have to go company by company to update the rows.

    There must be something i'm missing.
