Dynamics 365 Portals and SharePoint Integration - global area

Posted on by 4,052

Hi community

D365 Portals has now the ability to integrate with SharePoint which is great.. but I am wondering if it would be possible to display a page in the portal to act as a global area to download the files within SharePoint?

any ideas?

thanks

I am also facing the same issue , I added Authenticated User web role but I still face the same issue : You don’t have permissions to view these files and folders.

Ok I understand that you created the Entity Permissions, but I'm just trying to confirm if the Entity Permissions were added to a web role that the user has.

Did you add the child permission to your web role?  I see no reason why this wouldn't work, so I'm guessing something isn't quite configured right.

Thanks for the idea Nicholas.. I just tried that out but it didn't really

for my custom entity I added global entity permissions, and added a child permissions do Doc Location under my custom entity

but I am getting "You don't have permissions.." error message

    Hi Oliver,

Right now the SharePoint integration is all based on the document location related to an entity.  So in theory, you could possibly create a custom entity and a single record of that entity whose document location is the main SharePoint folder, and then expose that via an entity form that references that single record.

Haven't tried that myself, but it might work.

    Hope that helps.

    Nick
