We just completed an upgrade to GP 2010. My users complained about not being able to access Manufacturing Sales Forecasting. A quick check of the Registration Keys confirmed Sales Forecasting was not available. We have used Sales Forecasting since implementation in 2006. Our original purchase documents show a line item "Demand Planner/Sales Forecasting." On CustomerSource, each version's Registration Key shows Demand Planner and Sales Forecasting, except for GP 2010 (because Demand Planner is no longer supported or eligible for Enhancement). I opened a case with Sales Operations and they are telling us to purchase Sales Forecasting. They say our access to the module was a mistake on their part.
Has anyone else run into this? How was it resolved for you?
Thanks
Tim Foster

Richard,
While well intentioned (I hope), your suggestions are not appreciated by me. I did not ask for a replacement for Demand Planner. I wanted to see if Microsoft was consistant in removing access to the Manufacturing Sales Forecasting module and forcing other customers into (re)purchasing the module.
In any case, you've got your information on this thread so other can see it; be happy with that. I will not be contacting you.
Tim

Hi Dean,
We did work with Sales Operations. The outcome was entirely unsatisfactory from our perspective. I still believe Microsoft violated their own published policy on discontinued products.
We had to purchase Manufacturing Sales Forecasting. Had we been warned about the impending loss of functionality, we would have timed the purchase to take advantage of the "loyalty reward" promo since our Enhancement renewed on June 28. We were denied the discount also.
Thanks so much Microsoft! (Sarcasm intended)
Tim
Hi Tim.
Thank you for using Forums.
The team in Sales Operations would be the ones with knowledge of what keys were purchased, etc. You would need to continue to work with them on this question.
Thanks!
