Delete Model at Test Environment (all-in-one deployable package)

hi all,

Since the all-in-one deployable package applied to dynamics 365 finance and operations environment.

i have scenario on this.

DEV : TEST : PROD:
Model1 Model1 Model1
Model2 Model2 Model2
Model3 Model3

on that scenario, Model3 not deploy to Production environment .

if we want to create all-in-one package, we must include Model1, Model2, Model3, right?

but we just need to deploy that model which deployed at Production, Model1 and model2

can we delete the Model3 from Test environment? just because Model3 is no need to deploy to Production.

I have the same question (0)

    Yes you can.

However there have been some bugs reported, blocking the removal of a model (docs.microsoft.com/.../uninstall-deployable-package). Not sure if it's already been fixed so you need to test it. Please make sure you fulfill all the prerequisites mentioned in the documentation.

    Hi JoshuaRamaditya,

Following the steps to remove model:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../models

Assume the local model store folder is C:\AOSService\PackagesLocalDirectory and your model is named MyModel1.

    1. Stop the following services: AOS web service and Batch Management service.
    2. Delete the model folder C:\AOSService\PackagesLocalDirectory<PackageName>\MyModel1. In this example. PackageName=ApplicationSuite.
    3. Restart the services that were stopped in step 1.
    4. In Visual Studio, refresh your models (Visual Studio > Dynamics 365 > Model management > Refresh models).
    5. In Visual Studio, build the package that the deleted models belonged to (Visual Studio > Dynamics 365 > Build models).
    6. In Visual Studio, perform a full database synchronization (Visual Studio > Dynamics 365 > Synchronize database).

yes , you have to first delete model 3 from Test so that structure matches with what you have in PROD and then you should be good. We have done similar things where we deleted bunch of models created due to ax 2012 upgrade  after moving all in to one model using the process  described in the standard documentation.
