Still wondering what happens to RELATED records.

For the sake of argument, lets assume we are working with an out-of-the-box solution with all settings default.

let's leave everything else out. I am wondering how one can merge two records related entities.

Merging does not create new child records but associates it with the master record. Please check the relationship behavior of Contact and Custom entity relationship and also check if there is any custom logic written on Contact or custom entity to create new records.

    Hi,

We have custom child entities associated with the contacts, while merging both all child records of other(second) entity getting copied.Even though similar child entity already exists in Master record.

    Hi,

In OOTB method, it is clearly mentioned that the master record will own all the child records of merged record and the subordinate record will get deactivated. Hence no duplicate creation of records.
