Jobs-how to disallow actual to change budget cost

Greetings All

I would appreciate assistance with my issue please.

I am using Budget lines in my Job and I have entered the Job planning line with the expected stock items to be used.   That correctly displays as the budget.   I want that figure to be "locked down" to function as a baseline budget.   I don't expect that figure to be updated when I post the Job Journal to consume the stock.   However, that is what is happening on the posting of each Job Journal - it is causing both the budget and the acutal costs figures to be updated.   I use the line type of 'budget' for the Job journal.

We won't be billing the costs to the customer - we just need the jobs to accumulate the costs and provide us with budget vs actual costs.

I'm thinking that I have a setting wrong somewhere.   I'd appreciate any guidance on this please.

Thank you

What costing method do the items use? Variance could be based on the actual costs of those given items

    Good evening

I am not dealing with a cost change on the item - I'm talking about a Budget amount on a Job planning line which is increasing each time I post a Job journal.   The actual cost of the posted Job Journal should not be changing the baseline budget on the Job planning line.   Only the actual cost of the job planning line should be increasing when the Job Journal is posted.

My items could be using FIFO or Specific.

    Thank you
