License and CRM access

Hi

We are implementing a project for CRM 2015 On-Premise for one of our clients.

I have a query about the CRM access whether through network or IFD for on-premise licensed users. We are trying to understand the licensing mechanism in CRM. In the Online it is simple since the number of users have to be assigned a license. We need to understand how this works for the On-Premise version.

1. We know that CRM licensing is on named-user basis. However, if I have a 30 user server license, and all 30 users are already created,  does the application allow more users to be created?

2. If more users are allowed to be created, does the application block the 31st user when accessing the application?

Any insight or information will be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply, Nithya.

However, I am aware of these links and the licensing documents for CRM On-Premise. These do not answer the query I have raised.

If you do have any information on my query, please do let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

You can add more than 30 users in CRM.

CRM on premise doesn't check the number of users compared to the number of licences you have purcahsed.

However you can check no. of users created in deployment manager.

But Microsoft does audits so if you haven't paid for enough licences you will get into a bit of trouble.

Hope it will be you answer to query

    Thanks

    Rutul
