forcing production order to 1

Posted on by 5

Hello Team,

I would like the production order to generate for 1 qty at a time. the sales order is for quantity 10 therefore I would like 10 production order created when I run the planning worksheet.

All production are made-to-order and has to be manufactured one at a time even if they are all the same.

I have tried various ways including putting 1 in lots against the parent but it is not listening to me and still creates 1 production order for 10.

can anyone help please?  Business Central V21 Saas

Thank you

When you run the Planning Worksheet, you need to turn on the Toggle to "Respect Planning Parameters...".  My guess is your dates don't line up so it is giving a warning message and ignoring the Planning Parameters.

The other suggestion would be to ensure you have a SKU (Stockkeeping Unit) record created and properly setup for the Location you are planning for.

If you have these things in place, Robert's suggestion is the correct field to limit the Production Order Quantity to 1.

If it still doesn't work, you will need to reach out to your partner to assist with troubleshooting this as someone will need to review your specific data.

    hi

it is possible to create 10 production orders for one quantity at a time by changing the production order criterion for the article. Try these steps:

Go to the tab of the article that is to be produced in multiple quantities and open it.

On the 'Planning' tab of the article card, locate the field 'Production order criterion' and change its value to 'Manual'.

Save the changes to the article sheet.

Now, when you run the planning worksheet, the system will create a planned production order for 1 quantity at a time. You can then manually create a production order for each planned production order in order to produce the article.By changing the production order criterion to "Manual", you instruct the system to create planned production orders for 1 quantity at a time, instead of creating a production order for the entire quantity. In this way, articles can be produced one at a time according to your requirements.

check my answer if it helped you, thanks

    Yes

I already tried that and what I meant above was I also tried to put the lot size to one.  so maximum order size = 1 did not work.  Sorry I was not clear on that above.  so both did not work.  sorry for the ambiguity.   thank you

Not the lot size. The Maximum Order Size

    Hello Robert,

thank you for the reply. Unfortunately that did not work.  I put the lot size to 1 then did as you said and reordering policy to 'maximum qty' then under order of planning inserted 1 into maximum order quantity and also inserted for good measure order multiple of 1 and it is still producing one production order for 10 and not 10 production order with 1 each per production order.  Can you think of another way please ?  thanks again

Set the Item Card so the Max Order Qty is 1 and that should force the system to create 1 prod order per that item.
