Hi,
I have configured Powerbi with D365FO using the following link
https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/crmpowerobjects/posts/how-to-integrate-power-bi-with-dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations
I have Pro license for power bi,i created a report and publish and then added in workspace (D365 FO) using power bi control its working fine.
But one of my colleague also using the same machine with his own credentials but he's getting some error while viewing the report.
I have shared the power bi report with the other person in power bi online but he is not an PowerBi Pro user.
Thanks

try to go through the licensing document to get details on embedded PowerBI licensing for D365FO and could create a support ticket accordingly
Hello Vignesh,
The user is a F&O User and is not a PowerBI Licensed user. The user has to be a PowerBi Licensed user to be able to view the report in D365F&O. The other components to check for is whether the Application Secret Key and the Application Key is registered and whether the PowerBI Configuration is complete. You need to complete the Deploy to PowerBI step in System Administration too. Also, check if the Deploy measures batch job has been run once. This will publish data from AxDB Database to AxDW Database.
Happy to answer questions, if any.

Hi Rahul,
Thanks for responding.
The end users are licensed for D365FO. The report they are getting the error on is a custom report, using DirectQuery and Entity Store data only. The report was added to an existing Analytical Workspace. The D365 license SHOULD cover them for this scenario, however it is not.
There must be a step that is missing, or something in the data model is missing, or something that needs to be added to AOT...we cannot figure out what the issue is.
Mike
as you are using embedded one, if they have access to D365FO then they are covered.
if your colleagues are not users and licensed in D365FO then may have to either make them pro or use alternate mechanism like PowerBi and ADL, Data warehouse.... Azure analysis services...
Did you find a resolution to this issue? We are seeing the same thing.
The issue is related to a custom Power BI report, based on Entity Store and still using DirectQuery, that is added to a D365 Analytical Workspace. Other users get the error seen above.
Hi Navneeth Nagrajan,
Yes,He is an D365 F& O user but he is getting some error "PowerBINotLicensedException" while opening the D365 F& O workspace form.
Hello Vignesh,1.If i need to share my report from PowerBi.com to my colleague whether i need pro license ?A] If you share a report with a colleague then yes you will need a PowerBI Pro license. If you don't have a Pro license, then PowerBI.com will prompt you with a message that states upgrade to a Pro account.
2.If my colleague is not a pro user whether he can able to view the report in PowerBi Workspace or in D365F&O Workspace?A] If your colleague is not a Pro user then he needs to be a D365 F&O user to be able to view the PowerBI report in D365 F&O. In F&O, your colleague has to exist as an user.

Hi Navneeth,
1. Its D365 F&O Workspace.
2. Yes I shared my report through PowerBI.com.
Yes i can able to view the report in D365 f&O Workspace,I have two questions
1.If i need to share my report from PowerBi.com to my colleague whether i need pro license ?
2.If my colleague is not a pro user whether he can able to view the report in PowerBi Workspace or in D365F&O Workspace?
Two questions based on the information that you provided:1. When you say workspaces, are you referring to PowerBI app workspaces or D365 F&O workspaces?2. Also, have you shared the PowerBI report with your colleague through PowerBI.com after hosting the report in the PowerBI App workspace?
If you are viewing the PowerBI report in D365 F&O then there is no need for an additional PowerBI pro license. You can view the data in D365 F&O workspace itself.
If the idea is to create a PowerBI report in F&O and later edit it and share it with another user through a PowerBI workspace then yes, you need an additional PowerBI Pro license.
Hi Vignesh,
If user is D365 user and PowerBI report is shared to view from D365 then no licence is require.
