Hi, is there a way to have the same Budget ID for different fiscal years? When I upload the 2009 budget numbers, they spread over the previous years and now I can not print 2008 or 2007 budget numbers. Please help!!

You are doing yourself and the people posting questions no good by trying to sell them on products that do not exist. Integrity Data makes great products for HR/PR but nothing on the web site mentions other modules.

You could look into possible solutions from Integrity Data, Inc. Here is a link to their website www.integrity-data.com.

This is sample of the CON_IS_YTD, the cosonlidation column that contains different year end for different company, where column A is the company have FY from Sep-Aug, column B, C, E, F have FY from Oct-Sep, and be sure to pick the reporting unit different for each column:

    A                 B                     C                        D               E                     F                    G                H

GL               GL                    GL                     CALC         GL                   GL                  CALC           CALC
    ACTUAL       ACTUAL           ACTUAL                              ACTUAL           ACTUAL
    BASE          BASE-1            BASE                                  BASE-1            BASE
    BASE         12                     BASE-1                               12                     BASE-1
    YTD            CUR                 YTD                                     CUR                  YTD
                                                                        B+C                                                         E+F             A+D+G

REPORTING UNIT = DIFFERENT FOR EACH COMPANY

    ...

    Another sample of  CON_BS:

    A                              B                           C

    GL                            GL                        GL                              CALC
    ACTUAL                   ACTUAL                ACTUAL
    BASE                      BASE                    BASE
    BASE                      BASE-1                 BASE-1
    YTD                         YTD                      YTD
                                                                                                   A+B+C

    CONSOLIDATED^A CONSOLIDATED^B  CONSOLIDATED^C = REPORTING UNIT

    ...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Dynamics GP Budget by Periods

this is helpful but part of the issue is our companies are on different year ends so when doing the consolidation we would need one company using dec of 2009 budget (period 12) and the other company using dec 2010 (period 9) so i am having trouble with this.

  • Re: Re: Re: Dynamics GP Budget by Periods

Also if you want to add three fiscal budgets, in the Calc Formula row, you can add them together = column A + B + C, etc...

    A                    B                    C

    GL                  GL                  GL                     CALC
    FY07-08          FY08-09          FY09-10
    2008               2009               2010
    x TO x            2 TO 12          1
    CUR               CUR               YTD
                                                                          A+B+C

    P<=B

  • Re: Re: Re: Dynamics GP Budget by Periods

Not sure if this would help, but in the column layout in FRx, you can list as many column as  you want for different budget ID, and in the print control, you pick P<=B so if you want to print only FY07-08, and the Report Date is for example 1/31/2008, this print control will only display budget for FY07-08, etc...:

    GL                  GL                  GL
    FY07-08          FY08-09          FY09-10
    2008               2009               2010
    x TO x            2 TO 12          1
    CUR               CUR               YTD

    P<=B

    ....

BTW, FRx might be discontinued some time next year for good. Good luck.

Re: Re: Re: Dynamics GP Budget by Periods

The other issue here is if you have multiple companies with different fiscal years. you need to be able to do a budget that covers all fiscal years so company a end 12/31 and company b ends 3/31 you would want a 15 month budget so you could report for either company or the consolidated. company. grouping on dates and not on periods. This is very fustrating and have not found an easy answer.

Thanks, I have 2007-2008 and I want to create just one Budget ID, for example, Budget, and include on it the years 2007-2008-2009 because if I have many budget ID's, everytime I run a report from previous years on FRx, I need to go to the column layout and change the budget ID. I thought I can have one budget ID and many years because Dynamics have that option on the budget screen.

You need to create a budget id for each year. Are you trying to avoid changing the reports to use a different budget id?
