I set up discount on item buy x and y for z discount and thats straight forward. Is it possible to set up buy x and get multiple different y's for discount percent off? Or is this an add-on and who is using such an add-on and how well does it work.

With RMS' built-in discounting, both X and Y come from the same pool of items. If this is ok, great, but if you wanted to do something more like buy two cans of product A and get product B 1/2 off you would need something with more horsepower.
