CRM Configuration Removal

Hi,

We are currently upgrading our CRM from 2011 to 2015, terminal server from 2008 to 2012.

My goal is to setup CRM automatically on Outlook.

So far I got the default working, Outlook opens > CRM Configured without server name (using default xml)

Issue arise when 2011 CRM Configuration still remains, this will not prompt for CRM configuration during outlook startup due to existing configuration.

Troubleshooting so far:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Client\ConfigWizard\Microsoft.Crm.Application.Outlook.ConfigWizard.exe" /Q /xa only removes 2015 configurations but not 2011

Is there any other ways to bulk remove these configuration from user ? We are running terminal server profile on a different drive (E: instead of C:).

Removal Logs (successful): www.filedropper.com/remove2015

Removal Logs (Unsuccessful): www.filedropper.com/remove2011

Further details:

Looks like the script only stops working IF CRM configuration has a red cross on it (Unable to synchronize). This will happen if I configure on a 2011 CRM Outlook Client Configuration then jump on to a 2015 CRM Outlook Client Configuration. Funny enough if I configure a 2015 CRM Outlook Client Configuration, it will still should up as synchronized on 2011 CRM Outlook Client Configuration.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jonathan Ng

    Hi Jono,

You should use power-shell to remove the configuration. I do not remember exactly the command, but you can check in the following command.

    Get-Help Get-CrmSetting

    Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Crm.PowerShell

Refer to the implementation guide for a complete list of commands however useful information commands include:

    Get-Help *Crm*

    Get-Help CrmCmdletName

    Get-Help Get-CrmSetting

    Get-Help Get-CrmSetting -examples

    Get-CrmSetting -SettingType AsyncSettings

Thanks Pham, never thought about the PS solution until now.

Unfortunately I believe this is for server side client only.

At the moment I am trying to get rid of client side CRM for Outlook configuration.
