Do you have any characters in your item numbers outside of dashes?   Quotes are not a good thing to put in an item number.   I have seen them cause issues (more with MRP).

I have record this error when a single quote was included in the item number. The screen shot was not readable to me. You might try including only the error message so that it might be clearer.

    Kind regards,

I had a client with the same problem when printing the IV Lot Number Inquiry report for certain items.  The same exact R-TREE error would pop up and GP would close down, regardless of which user on which workstation would try to print it.  We finally figured out there was a carriage return at the end of the item description.  It couldn't be seen, even in SQL, until we ran an ASCII function on each letter of the description.  (We already knew the description was the problem, we just wanted to know exactly what was in there causing such trouble.)  The items had been imported long ago and the ASCII character 13 had gotten in there at the end of the description.  The fix was to simply delete the description ENTIRELY and re-type it.  I know this is old, but I'm posting this reply to help save others some time.
