You can develop a custom AL report or codeunit that:
    • Exports G/L Entries in chunks (e.g., 500,000 lines per file).
    • Writes to Azure Blob StorageOneDrive, or downloads as .txt/.csv.
    • Uses StreamWriter or File APIs in AL.
This can be the one of methods within BC SaaS.

Note: This response was created in collaboration with Microsoft Copilot to ensure clarity and completeness. I hope it helps to some extent.

Thank I have already developed a code to export data in chunks though it would have been better if there was a way to export entire month data in one go

Have you tried XMLPort to export the data? I think that should work.

For millions of G/L entries, RDLC/Excel won’t work due to their row limits. The practical options are:

    • Configuration Package / RapidStart – works well for large table exports.
    • API / OData – pull data in chunks (with filters like date ranges).
    • SQL (On-Prem only) – direct query if you’re running BC on-prem.
    • Custom report/extension – stream data to CSV or a data lake without row limits.

For SaaS, the best way is to use API with filters or Configuration Package to export monthly batches.
