RMS integration with card devices and dynamics crm

Hi,

I am new to AX Retail. Need some inputs on the following

1. How AX Retail can integrate with chip 'n' pin and credit card devices? Are they providing an integration tool for it?

2. How can RMS integrate with Dynamics CRM ?  Are they providing webservices for integration or is it via database?

Can POS directly communicate with CRM?  Does PoS supports calling external webservices?

3. How does RMS retail integrate with headquarters, what are ports required to be open etc?

Thanks,

Deenu

Looks like this has been idle for awhile, but I am curious (Have not looked on marketplace yet) has anyone come across the use of the ESS Device CAL as a foot print on a POS to allow you to stub POS transactions into CRM.   It's been a few years, but I worked on something similar to this for a desk kiosk for a large Parking/Storage company that used CRM to extend their AS/400 based POS/Membership/ERP system for parking spaces.  We envisioned/developed several custom interfaces to talk to gates, card readers and attendant terminals all of which interacted with both CRM and the AS/400 via biztalk and custom RPG.net assemblies.    Long story short, have you folks seen that done with CRM 2011 yet?   And specifically for the attendant POS terminal (which requires a cash drawer and card reader)

    Deenu,

    1.  I cannot answer this for you, sorry.

    2. Neither RMS no POS 2009 can directly integrate with CRM, though there are Plug-ins available to do this (at least for RMS).  There are no web services native to either program, though we have written to customization called RMS Web Portal that does provide a Web Service interface to a good chunk of RMS functionality.

    3. RMS connects Store Operation to Headquarters with tools called HQ Client and HQ Server.  The ports used for these are 100% configurable.

    I hope this helps.
