    Data labels in Dashboard
    Hello Nidhi Purohit,

Okay, let's get those data labels showing on your Dynamics 365 Sales dashboard charts! Here's a breakdown of how to add them, keeping in mind the different chart types you might be using:

General Steps (Applicable to Most Chart Types):

    1. Open Your Dashboard for Editing:

      • Navigate to your Dashboards area within Dynamics 365 Sales (usually under Sales or Workplace).
      • Find the dashboard you want to modify.
      • Click on the "..." (ellipsis) button on the top right of the dashboard.
      • Select "Edit".

    2. Edit the Specific Chart:

      • Hover over the chart where you want to add data labels.
      • Click on the "..." (ellipsis) button that appears in the top right corner of the chart component.
      • Select "Edit". This will open the chart designer.

    3. Enable Data Labels:

      • In the chart designer, look for the "Visual" tab or a section related to chart appearance and formatting. The exact location might vary slightly depending on the chart type.
      • You should find an option related to "Data Labels".
      • Toggle the "Show data labels" option to "On" or check the corresponding checkbox.

      •

    4. Customize Data Labels (Optional):

      • Once data labels are enabled, you might have further customization options available, such as:

        • Label Position: Where the label appears relative to the data point (e.g., above, below, center, inside).
        • Label Color: The color of the text.
        • Label Font Size and Style: Adjusting the appearance of the text.
        • Label Format: How the data is displayed (e.g., with currency symbols, percentages, decimal places).

    5. Save Your Changes:

      • After enabling and customizing the data labels, click "Save" in the chart designer.

    6. Save Your Dashboard:

      • Once you're back on the dashboard editing screen, click "Save" in the top right corner to save the changes to your entire dashboard.
      • You might also need to click "Close" to exit the dashboard editor.

      •

    7.

Specific Instructions for Common Chart Types:

    • Bar Charts and Column Charts: The "Data Labels" option is usually found under the "Visual" tab or a "Data point labels" section. You'll often have options for label position (e.g., Auto, Outside End, Inside Base, Inside Center).

    • Line Charts and Area Charts: Look for the "Data Labels" toggle under the "Visual" settings. You might have options for showing labels on all points or only selected ones.

    • Pie Charts and Donut Charts: The "Data Labels" settings are typically under the "Visual" tab or a "Data labels" section. You'll often have options for showing percentages, values, or both, and for the label position (e.g., Auto, Outside End, Inside).

    • Funnel Charts: Data label options are usually available under the "Visual" settings, allowing you to display values, percentages, or both on each segment.

    •

Troubleshooting if You Don't See Data Label Options:

    • Chart Type: Ensure you are using a chart type that supports data labels. Some very basic chart types might not have this option.
    • Chart Configuration: Double-check that your chart has data to display. If the underlying data is empty or not being aggregated correctly, there might be no labels to show.
    • Permissions: While unlikely for basic chart editing, ensure you have the necessary permissions to customize dashboards and chart components.
    • Custom Charts: If the chart was created using a custom control (e.g., Power BI Embedded), the data label settings will be managed within the custom control's configuration, not the standard Dynamics 365 chart editor. You'll need to edit the Power BI report or the custom control's settings directly.

    •

In summary, the process involves editing the specific chart component on your dashboard and then finding the "Data Labels" option within the chart's visual settings. Enable this option and customize the appearance as needed. Remember to save your changes to both the chart and the dashboard.

If you can provide the specific type of chart you are having trouble with, I can give you more precise instructions. Good luck getting those labels to appear!

    Data labels in Dashboard
Good morning, afternoon, or evening :) depending on your location!

To add data labels to your dashboard in Dynamics 365 Sales, follow these steps:
    1. Edit the Chart – Open your dashboard and double-click the chart where you want to add labels.
    2. Set Properties – In the Set Properties dialog box, ensure the Display label on the Dashboard option is checked.
    3. Customize the Chart – If you're using a funnel or bar chart, check that the Show Chart Only option is disabled so labels appear.
    4. Save and Refresh – Apply the changes, save the dashboard, and refresh to see the updates.

    Hope this helps!
