When I tried to publish Opening Inventory using "Edit in Excel", I have got the following error message.

Error Publishing Row Details: A row created in data set Item_Journals_Excel was not published.
Error message: 'Control 'Expiration Date' is read-only. CorrelationId: 9d4cf95a-1891-4e0c-ae46-150eb5a6f901.'

Item Tacking Code is EXPIRYDATE.

"Edit in Excel" uses Odata in the background, not the fields on the current page. Hopefully the following two posts can give you some hints.

    Thanks.

    HI,
I just check it at my side and found if you are removed Expiration date it is working perfectly.

Some work around you may try but its depends on you business needs.

Below setups you may execute and try

-> First in Item tracking Code disable the Boolean "Required Expiration date Entry  "
-> Use Expiration calculation field on item card under the Item Tracking.

Best Practice is to use the Configuration package which more easy to update the data.

I hope this will help you to resolve the issues.

    Regard,
    PRao

This is because edit in excel doesn't work for item tracking information on the item journal lines. If you need to upload lines with item tracking information then typically for this you would use configuration packages instead of using edit in excel.

    Hello,
Is-it working if you remove the column "Expiration Date" before edit in Excel ?
