Hi,

I am using business central job module and I am facing the error on the job journal when posting the single line "Document No. must be equal to 'JJ0000069' in Job Journal Line: Journal Template Name=JOB, Journal Batch Name=ABC, Line No.=30000. Current value is 'JJD0000070'."

what should I do?

Note: I have 5 line on the job journal page and there are limited doc numbers from (JJ-----69) to (JJ-----73) but I only want to post single line by applying the filter on date.

Looks like JJ0000069 document is already posted so you have increment JJ0000069 document no to JJ0000070 etc.

Hi Mohana,

It is not already posted line but i try to filter it from the job journal lines then it shows the error message, otherwise without applying any filter its allow me to post the journal line this is actually confusing for me.

Hi , Are you getting error like below (1st screen shot) when filtering on 2nd line from multiple lines ? If so, Are you editing the Document Number manually for the Other lines ?

If so, then please note that Job journal is NOT a balanced journal like General Journal where you have a Balancing Account to fill and Post. In General Journal you could filter on any line and Post.

I see that Job Journal is taking same document number for multiple lines because there is NO balancing entry. So in case you wish to post line randomly then let system take the same document number for all the lines but you FILTER ON UNIQUE RECORD LIKE TASK NO., AMOUNT, RESOURCE then Post after filter like 2nd screen shot.

You may want to review the Job Journal Template > Batches to see if you have a pre-defined No. Series for the Batch:

If you are using a pre-defined number series, then it is better to leave the Doc. No. alone on the entry of the Journal. If you experience this issue again, this would be the first place you should look.
