N jobs through XML import/export

Hi,

We have AX 2012 R2. And there are some stores where internet connectivity is a challenge.  Add to that, whenever i run N-1040 (Products, prices), the log shows approx 5M records affected  (in the OutGoingMessages). And it takes 3-4 hours to complete.

Is there any way to push N-1040 to XML files for each table. These files can then be sent to the stores in an external memory drive. Once there, a batch program should load them into the store database.

Is this possible? Has anyone tried this approach?

Thanks.

    Hello,

I would really not recommend doing that. You have to run the N-Jobs just once ,during the original deployment of a store, after that you can use the A-Jobs.

We had also multiple million records affected by a couple of N-Jobs, we just let it run over night.

Another option would be (and this saved us in the end) was splitting the N-Jobs in multiple ones.

Lets just say N-1040 has two Tables: InventTable and InventDim. Deactivate one Table and add another N-Job (N-1040 has InventTable and N-1040-2 has InventDim). This way you still have to push all the data, but you can do it in smaller pieces (in case of unstable internet connection).

    Hope this helps.
