Fundraising and Engagement: Access to Source Code to be able to make own customizations

Dear all,

in the early versions of Fundraising and Engagement on GitHub the whole Source Code for the Azure Environment (e. g. Payment Functions, Bank run etc.) was available but this is not longer the case. Is it still possible to access the Source Code? It seems the whole Fundraising and Engagement Solution is heavily dependent on the logic sitting in Azure (Azure Functions, WebJobs etc.), how should Implementation partners be able to make adjustments/extensions (e. g. using a different Bank File Format) without having access to this Code?

Looking forward to get some feedback.

Bastian

    Hi Bastian,

The deployment process got bit changed for latest Fundraising and Engagement application. Here is the link for deployment guide https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/industry/nonprofit/fundraising-engagement-deploy and please find below GitHub link also

    https://github.com/microsoft/fundraising-and-engagement/releases/tag/v2.0.3.1. I hope that helps!

    Thanks!

    Dear Rohit,

thank you very much for your quick response. I was already able to follow the instructions and deploy Fundraising and Engagement successfully. I think that is a very good process. But when it comes to customizing Fundraising and Engagement for specific customer needs (as mentioned, integrating different Bank file formats)  it gets very difficult since we can not see or access the Source Code deployed to the various Azure components which contain the actual Business Logic. Hence my question if there is a way to get access to this code.

    Best Bastian

    Dear Bastian

    Thanks for the clarification.

We have verified with the team and receive the confirmation that this was changed in recent versions only. And cannot provide the source code.
If you have any further quires on this, please create a support ticket following the below steps:

Power Platform admin center (microsoft.com) – New support request - select - Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit

Thanks for the clarification! I think this creates some problems for implementation partner but let's see what the future brings.
