Fonts in PDF print from SSRS report

Hi all

For AX2012 R3, I have been given a task of changing the font for the FormLetterRemarks textbox on "SalesInvoice", "PSAProjInvoice" and "FreeTextInvoice" SSRS reports.

When I change the font to for instance "Courier New" or "Consolas", in Visual Studio, and then prints to PDF, the new font is stored as an embedded TrueType font in the PDF.

However there is also a demand that the PDF file size must be as small as possible, so the use of embedded TrueType fonts are not an option.

Ideally I would like to use a native Type 1 font like the "Courier" font shown in the top of the below example - but it must be a Mono-Spaced type.

Does anyone have suggestions for this, as I am soon going insane with this problem.

Have a look at Microsoft ticket log in this post, especially on point 2.3:

This was for AX 2009, but might still contain useful ideas for you that is relevant for 2012.

Also there are tools with which you could remove or replace embedded fonts from PDF documents.
