Problems with the creation of work plans

Posted on by 10

Hello together,

We as a company are currently getting Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations set up by an IT company. We are currently facing a problem where the IT company says that Microsoft Dynamics cannot do it. I can't imagine that, so now I am asking here.

We are trying to represent our production process in a work plan. For the first workstations, we only need personnel, which is relatively easy to implement. Each colleague can only work on one piece at a time and when he is finished, the next one can continue with it. In the respective Human Resources I have set a transfer batch of 1 piece. So it works wonderfully, if I have an order for 6 pieces, that when the first colleague is finished with the first part, the second can already start.

Our products are molded with synthetic resin, so there are various processes to follow. When the colleagues are finished with all 6 pieces, one colleague puts these 6 units in an oven for preheating. All 6 devices must remain in the oven for at least 2 hours, but no more than 6 hours. At this point, we are already failing. We can't manage that all devices get these 2 hours of preheating in parallel, regardless of the number of orders. Of course, this oven is not infinitely large, but for the beginning we assume so. After this preheating, one piece is always taken out of the furnace and cast. This takes about 15 minutes per piece. After that, each piece goes into another oven for tempering. Now the difficulty is that depending on the time the unit was placed in this oven, two hours later the unit must be demolded, otherwise we will break the mold. So first-in first-out. This process is time critical. And it is not allowed to load the oven for preheating if 2 hours and 15 minutes later there is no person who can demold the device.

In human resources, we work with capabilities.

I hope I have described what we want to do in an understandable way and I have not forgotten any information.

Denis
