Document Subgrid (files) on the main form

Hi All,

I want to show the SharePoint document subgrid on the main form of custom entities.

I found that OOB entities have files tab on the main form from where users can directly upload the document like leads, opportunity.

How we can achieve this? Is there any alternative approach for the same.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Subhash,

For custom entity, we first need to enable this custom entity in Document Management Settings.

Then open its form editor, add a subgrid, select Entity as Document Location (Regarding).

This is where you can upload documents to SharePoint.

Hi, I think what you need is to simply check the "document management" inside your entity:

    Hi Subhash,

As Miguel said, you could also enable document management for custom entities.

This will add the Document tab to the Related tab in entity form.

Its function is the same as the File tab of the OOTB entity.

It does not appear on the form by default. Users need to click Related to see it.

If you create a subgrid for Document Location (Regarding), the subgrid will be displayed on the form by default. But there are not as many functions in the subgrid as the Document tab.

So both solutions have their own pros and cons, please choose the one that suits you.

We have enabled document management for our custom entity.

But client don't want to navigate to "Related -> Document" they want SharePoint document tab on the main form itself.

I got your point but adding document location on the sub grid does not give the capability of uploading documents in SharePoint from main form itself.

like we have for leads and opportunity.

    Hi Subhash,

Sorry for the incompleteness of the previous answers.

We need to add Document sub-grid in the Power Apps, not in the classic interface.

Go to https://make.powerapps.com/, click Data > Entities, switch to Custom, open the entity.

Open the main form, add a subgrid, check "Show related records", select Document(Regarding). Save and publish.

    Hi Subhash,

The folder is indeed not accessible in the Document subgrid, which is by design.

There is no Folder in "+New" in the subgrid, but "+New" in the Related Document tab has Folder.

To see the folder in the subgrid, the user needs to click on "See associated records", which will also jump to the Related Document tab.
