Permission Set to manage users and permissions?

Hi Team

My client wants to allow to manage users and permissions for the business admin users but I do not want to give them SUPER permission as they are not IT experts. I have gave them the standard user group of "D365 SECURITY" which includes the SECURITY permission set. But still get the error of "You have not been granted permission to perform the current activity." upon updating user card and another error of "You don't have rights to manage the "AUTOMATE - EXEC" permission set on users. The SECURITY permission set only grants you rights to manage those permission sets that are also assigned to your account." upon updating User permission sets in a User Card.

Is there any pre-defined permission set that can allow users to update users and permissions? Or do we have to grant the SUPER permission? The system version is US Business Central 22.0.

Thank you in advance,

Haruka

someone needs to be either super or have security permission set to manage user permissions. If you don't want to give super to someone, then don't do it. Or create customized permission sets based on what is required.

Hi, As far as I know, there is no standard permission set for managing users in BC. So you can create custom permission sets. This will be easy to do using the Permission Record feature, I think you can try it.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback. The suggestion from Yun Zhu is very helpful and powerful feature to capture the permissions.

I used the permission recording and modified user and his permissions. But unfortunately the user with the recorded permission still gets the error of "You don't have rights to manage the "AIYA CUSTOMER, EDIT" permission set on users. The SECURITY permission set only grants you rights to manage those permission sets that are also assigned to your account." when assigning/removing a permission to users unless it has SUPER permission.

I will check the solution with my client. Thank you for your advices!
