online users Ending Blocked status

Hi,

Recently we encounted the online users "Ending Blocked" status issues quite oftenly, when this happened, the users connecitons get frozen and can not work. But AX System Administrator group users have no broblem login. And on SQL server, there is no "Blocked" spid showing. We usually have to restart AOS for a quick fix, but soon the "Ending Blocked" come back. Does anybody know how this happened and how to prevent it? Our enviroment is AX 2012 CU3 on SQL server 2008 R2. Thank you.

    are the wcf service for AX client normaly deployed.

    I see this also happen when I do an CIL compile, on that time frame inbound ports are offline

    Hi Vanda,

    There can be several reasons but that is hard to tell.

    Can you indicate if you are running "vanilla" or do you have customizations? What processes are started by the users where the sesions get frozen?

    On AX2012 CU3 there are some known issues about performance problems and even a memory leak (www.kaya-consulting.com/.../ax2012-memory-leak-hotfix-available). CU5 for AX2012 contains some updates on performance and also includes the fix for the memory leak.

    Be aware that AX2012 R2 has newer cumulative updates available. Another note: Frozen clients could also be related to other causes: e.g. SQL settings (startup parameters).

    Thank you all for the reply, we finally fixed the problem. The main reason is the network connectivity causing interruption between AX client and server. Changes we did:

    1. Disable TCP Chimney, TCPIP Offload Engine and RSS to stabilize network connectivity

    2. Enable DTC and configured it for network access

    3.Create each tempdb file per each CPU.
