Update Roll-up field immediately when a record is created

Good Day

Please advise, I have a Roll-Up field on my form which is rolling up the total USD value from the subgrid. The issue is I have to manually update this roll-up, I need this roll up to update immediately when a new record is created.

please advise how do i do this??

There is a CalculateRollupFieldRequest message which enable to do tollup on demand.

Detail can be found here : msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn817863.aspx

A sample would be something like this:

CalculateRollupFieldRequest objCalcRollupReq = new CalculateRollupFieldRequest { Target = new EntityReference(EntityName, ObjectGuid), FieldName = NameOftheRollupField }; CalculateRollupFieldResponse objCalcRollupResponse = (CalculateRollupFieldResponse)service.Execute(objCalcRollupReq); Entity objEntity = objCalcRollupResponse.Entity;

Hi There,

Roll-up field updates every one hour. Through coding you can call CalculateRollupField to calculate the Roll-up field.

There is a custom workflow activity which you can use there..
