Warehouse management

We are testing out the use of warehouse and bins in a test environment. However the warehouse manager does not see the Zones in the location to setup. I am trying to figure out what security rights I need to assign to enable this. I tried creating a custom group and access to those tables 14 & 7300 but still no luck. She doesn't even see it on the rubbin but when she goes to customize and moves it to her rights side and saves it still doesn't appear. I tried assigning her first the WM - Setup but also doesn't work. Usually i figure these out by NAV showing an error which Table the person needs access to but in this case there is no error just not available.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

    Sam,

I would give the User WHSE, View and Setup. In addition, I normally give the User Inventory Setup to see Locations.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

Unfortunately that User group doesn't exist by me.

    Sam,

As a User Group you are correct. You should have them as individual Permissions you can select.

I actually solved my problem through a feature in NAV i found through google that i never knew existed. The record permission feature. I ran what i needed and the feature tracked and added all the tables to the permission set.

Great feature that none of the consultants i worked with mentioned.

    Sam,

Yes, you can add a NEW Permission and start the recorder which tracks the keystrokes of the Users activity breaking down the Table, Page, Form, Report, Codeunit so a Permission Set can be built for that User or groups of users.

    Fantastic.

    Thanks,

    Steve

So even though I used the recorder feature, it doesn't work completely. In the location Card all the check boxes under the Warehouse Fasttab don't appear. For example: Require Receive, Require Shipment, etc...

I tried adding permissions to all the tables starting with Warehouse. No luck. If anyone knows what permissions are needed to see these checkboxes it would be greatly appreciated.

    Sam,

Without just saying give yourself Super User permission you can try adding INV -SETUP. Also since you are performing warehouse steps, you should add the below permissions.

    Hope this helps.
